整个展览是艺术家袁野借由艺术之名进行的一场自我修行。
The entire exhibition can be considered a form of practice by the artist Ye Yuan for the purpose of artistic expression.
作为一个无宗教主义者,站在局外者的角度去思考展览的本真。从2009年起艺术家反复抄写了《金刚经》1000多遍,而这种反复的抄写行为既是自我反思并重新认识这个世界的方式,也是开悟的过程。对于袁野来说,这场展览关注的不是作品形式的本身,而是作品营造的这个能量场,让大家感受到平静的力量。于我而言这场展览是一种延续性时间线的行为艺术以及与观念的碰撞,策展变得更加抽象且充满挑战。
As an individual who does not adhere to any particular religion, Ye Yuan is able to consider the true nature of the exhibition from an outsider's perspective, thereby avoiding the potential bias that might otherwise be introduced by an individual with a particular religious affiliation. Since 2009, Yuan has engaged in the act of copying the Diamond Sutra on over one thousand occasions. This repetitive act of copying serves not only as a means of self-reflection and re-understanding of the world, but also as a process of enlightenment. For Yuan, the significance of this exhibition lies not in the form of the works themselves, but in the energy field created by their collective presence, which allows everyone to feel the power of peace. It could be argued that this exhibition represents a continuation of the evolution of performance art, with a particular focus on the ways in which concepts are brought together in a highly conceptualised and challenging curation.
佛教文化既是一种规范我们言行举止的立世哲学,更是让我们在生活琐事缠身时学会换种思维角度并与之和解的一剂良药。袁野的创作过程本身是治愈的,他用潜意识去捕捉背写金刚经时生出的转瞬即逝的念,然后去梳理让它们归于平静,自然的落到画面上。这是他独特的创作方式。也是这位90后艺术家尝试将东方哲学与当代艺术相结合的一场实验,更是对古人智慧结晶的传承。
Buddhist culture is not merely a system of ethical and philosophical principles that regulate human conduct and behaviour; it is also a transformative lens that enables us to adopt a different mode of thinking and to navigate the complexities and challenges of life with greater resilience and understanding. Yuan's creative process is healing and employs a process of subconscious capture, whereby the artist's thoughts are recorded during the act of memorising the Diamond Sutra. These thoughts are then revisited and restored to a state of peace and naturalness before being transcribed onto the screen. This represents a distinctive approach to the creative process. Furthermore, this artist's work, created in the post-1990s era, represents an experiment in combining Eastern philosophical traditions with contemporary art forms. It also serves as a testament to the enduring wisdom of ancient traditions.

The pinnacle of artistic value is its capacity to evoke a spiritual experience. The concept of art has been a subject of inquiry and debate among scholars for thousands of years. Its existence and expression are limitless. It may be perceived as devoid of substance or austere, yet it is always akin to the light of life, infusing the world of the mind with a sense of excitement.
“无量”完美的诠释了艺术的无形无边界性。而袁野创作的“须弥”、“十方”、“无我相”、“无量”等系列作品 ,都是在用艺术的方式将“无常”“无我”的佛学观念融入到作品,解释什么是人生的修行,以及对过去,现在,未来等世界观宇宙观的探讨。
“Immeasurable" is an apt description of the intangible and borderless nature of art. The series of works created by Yuan, including "Sumeru”, “Shifang” and "Anatta-Appearance,” exemplify this approach. Yuan employs artistic techniques to integrate Buddhist concepts of "Impermanence" and "Non-self" into his creations. Through these works, he elucidates the principles of life cultivation and explore of what the practice of life is and an exploration of the worldview cosmology of the past, present, and future.
