2011年上海艺博会青年艺术家推介展，挑选展示上海地区青年艺术家近期作品，以架上为主，跟艺博会宗旨和本届展览组织方式有关。能够方便、集中地观看一批上海优秀青年艺术家的代表作，是一个非常难得的机会。

　　上海青年艺术家历来独立而又尖锐。他们不喜欢拉帮结派，也不喜欢过多的你来我往，看重的是自我修炼、思考和探索。在艺术追求上往往究其一端而不尽其余，一旦发现可行之路，总是走得自信又坚决。所以这里看到的作品绝不雷同，形式风格差距很大，各有创作方法的招数，也很少有人去追随国内外时髦流行的东西。

　　这种良好的艺术生态，得益于上世纪三十年代“决澜社”反抗传统、决然创新的艺术态度，得益于八十年代新艺术创作不事群体、强调本体的独立意识，也得益于世纪之交不少成功艺术家敢于挑战自我、打破既成图式的探索精神。这是上海当代艺术的历史之魂。因为有这样的魂魄在，上海艺术家在九十年代以来中国艺术的全球化语境中，显示了雄厚的创作实力和充足的创作后劲，这是为其他城市所不及的。

　　从展示作品看，上海因其作为亚洲乃至世界的特大城市，又因其作为现代中国城市的历史最为长久，青年艺术家们的创作自然而然地具有城市化倾向。不独是更多地选择城市题材，而且在形式语言中总是隐含着现代设计意识和城市视觉感受。除此之外，大概是因为上海作为国际都市久矣，外交礼仪、人际规则以及文明习惯都较为成熟，使得上海人在社会生活中喜雅致而爱讲究。这种素质之于艺术家并见诸作品，便是少见粗野而多有文气。文野之分本非高下之别，但作为创作特点自有其意义。然而，如果文限于美或文至于弱，便会成为值得注意的问题。好在青年艺术家们的极致化倾向，是一种很好的矫正，可以让自己的作品仍然保持着锐度和力度。这一点乃是非常重要的。

　　愿特立独行甚至有点刁钻的上海青年艺术家们，给中国当代艺术带来些新鲜的气息!

　　In Shanghai Art Fair 2011 Emerging Artists Exhibition, we select some young artists’ works, the rack-based, revealed the appearance of Shanghai area which related to its objective and the organization style of this exhibition. Absolutely, it’s really a rare and convenient opportunity to have a concentrative visit for so many outstanding young artists’ representatives.

　　Shanghai young artists are always independent and pungent, who neither like forming cliques nor like too much meaningless interactions, on the contrary, they’re always focus on self-cultivation, reflection and exploration. In the journey of art pursuit, they are concentrated on profession but hold the attitude of learning every essence things as soon as possible. If they find out some practical way, they’ll be self-confident and firm. Therefore, these works are unique and different in terms of form style because they have different kinds of creative patterns and little thing can be imitated by foreign main trends.

　　The good art atmosphere is the result of the definitely billows society’s art attitude of against tradition and determining to innovation the thirties of last century and it’s the result of the ontological sense of independence approved by the eighteens’ new creative community and, it’s the result of the exploration spirit of challenging themselves and breaking scholasticism from the successful artists in turn of century, which is the Shanghai soul in the history of contemporary art. With this kind of soul, Shanghai artists have shown their strong creative ability and sufficient creative potential where other countries couldn’t follow since the nineties in the context of the globalization of Chinese art.

　　As for works in the exhibition, as the Asia and world’s megacity, Shanghai, has the longest history of modern Chinese city, therefore, young artists’ creation tend to urbanization. They not only choose city themes but also imply sense of modern design and urban visual experience. What’s more, probably because Shanghai has been a international city for a long time, they’re familiar of diplomatic etiquette, interpersonal rules and habits of civilization, which make Shanghai people be fond of elegant and recherché in the social life. This kind of character develops in artists and then their works are gentle, intellectual and quiet but not insolent. Although the intellectual and the insolent character can’t essentially measure the creative level, as creative figure, it has plays an important role on works. However, we must pay attention to problems that the works just focus on beauty or softy. Luckily, it’s important that these young artists’ extreme trend, a good reclamation, can make their own works remain sharpness and intensity.

　　Wish these independent and principled and even wily and eccentric young artists in Shanghai will bring some fresh breath and higher level of developmental era to Chinese contemporary art!
